The Babies Get Out *OR* See?...
I didn't want to push little Mitch down, so here's another photo of him!
Today was the second day of "Jessica has two children forever"-- Margaret is
out of school for the summer, and we have officially become a party of 3 for
the next two months. So we (I) decided it was time for a little Italian Market
adventure.
First, this was a great excursion thanks to the most beautiful family in
Philly-- I saw them not once but TWICE! I have seen them before, and the
woman is always beautifully dressed, the man handsome and tall, the daughter
striking and confident. They always look breezy and relaxed, and all look at
each other with love and smiles and patience... I kid you not, they are
gorgeous in every way. They are my heroes and I am extremely proud that
they live where I live. I want to be their neighbor forever.
The second reason this was a great adventure was a woman-- the strangest,
nicest woman. She sat down next to me and the kiddos outside Fante's,
imparted some wisdom, and made me eat some of her freshly opened shrimp
salad. Everyone knows I don't like the "seafood", but she was so generous I
couldn't say no. She told me that her generousity had often encouraged people
to take advantage of her-- like when her neighbor stole all of her underclothes
(we had a good laugh about that). Seeing little Mitch, she went on to warn me
about the dangers of Cesarean sections (her daughter apparently died from
complications after her sixth Cesarean), and told me to make sure the lower
strap of Mitch's snap-in stroller/car seat was not too tight, lest I damage his
propagating parts. All good advice. A lovely woman with much wisdom and
generosity.
What a great day...
